RALLY
January 14, 2014
State Capitol Westside 9:30am
This event is to support our Union Taxi Drivers’ issues with the new threat of UBER, UBERx, and LYFT. These new transportation alternatives are hurting our members beyond belief. We know that there will be legislation introduced this session attempting to deregulate part or all of the transportation sector. This deregulation will put the public safety at risk and hurt CWA members at Union Taxi and SuperShuttle.
Plan on attending the Rally, January 14, 2014, State Capitol Westside at 9:30am
Your immediate action is needed to oppose the nomination of Glenn Vaad to the Colorado Public Utilities
Commission (PUC) in the upcoming hearing, as early as next week, as the 2014 Colorado Legislative session opens.
Governor Hickenlooper has chosen Glen Vaad, a former state representative from Weld County, as the newest of the three-member Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Mr. Vaad is no friend of clean energy for Colorado - his voting record allied primarily with the fossil fuel industry at the expense of Colorado's clean energy economy. Mr. Vaad is also a former high-ranking member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a powerful corporate lobbying group whose members include Koch Industries and others pushing state legislatures to turn back the clock on adoption of renewable energy in Colorado and elsewhere.
Please send your message now. Tell your state senator that the appointment of Glenn Vaad to the Colorado Public Utilities Commission is not acceptable.
